UNIT 58 was started by Nick Combrink and Ruan de Sousa a few years ago as a gaming clan. Both of them have loved motorsport from a very young age, and in 2019, they formed Unit 58 Racing to take part in their first virtual endurance race, the 6 Hours of the Glen on iRacing. For practice, they entered the iRacing VRS GT Endurance series, where they still currently compete. They have recently been joined by former rival, David Barrow, from Australia.
The team has grown into something more since the early days, as Unit 58 now also races along side Tiger Balm sim racing and FourEx sim racing, often teaming up for the 12Hr and 24Hr special events on iRacing, and also sharing drives in the VRS Endurance Series. The teams are still trying to come up with a suitable name for the joint team as xx_Tiger58_xx is a bit of a mouthful.

Races happen almost every Saturday.
Nick and Dave managed their first win the VRS Endurance series at Interlagos, driving the now retired BMW Z4 GT3, back in 2020.
A week later, they secured their second podium in the VRS Endurance series at Zandvoort, getting 3rd place over all.
Nick, Dave, and Ruan managed to get P6 in the 2021 Bathurst 12Hr driving the BMW M4 GT3.
The drivers of xx_Tiger58_xx, Matt (FourEx), Darren (Tiger Balm), Miles (Unit 58), and Nick managed a solid P5 at the 2023 Daytona 24 in the BMW LMDh.
